Just thought of dropping a post to put things into perspective considering the immense amount of controversy surrounding Mike Guglielmucci. I think the main idea is that we all don't exactly know why and how come this has happened. The 5 responses Ps Pat talked about last Sunday are all appropriate and normal, which some of us may be feeling right this moment.
But at the end of it all, whether we are confused or disappointed or indifferent, we need to realise that we're surrounded by people who clearly may not understand how to respond. Let's be people who do not judge or gossip. Neither do we be people who justify what's happening and why it's happening. What should be our response? How do we respond to people who have negative responses? Ultimately, the heart of the matter is really not about Mike Guglielmucci but about how we respond to such things. This is only one of the many incidences in our lives which we may be tested in terms of our faith or our understanding of who God is. So, let's not focus on Mike but let's focus on our hearts and how we respond.
Lord, we pray that to every ear who has heard of this incident will be guarded and protected. We pray that the hearts who have been hurt be healed by Your touch. We pray for wounds to close with forgiving hearts. We pray for Your blood to pour upon the Guglielmucci family and their church. May You bless them and guide them through this ordeal. Amen.
